George W. "Bill" Bogener

October 24, 1958 March 6, 2026

Rio, IL

George W. “Bill” Bogener, 67, of Rio, Illinois, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2026, at the Richard Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, Illinois.

Born on October 24, 1958, in Monmouth, Illinois, Bill was the son of Virgil A. and Betty Lou (Armstrong) Bogener and John Gary Budd. Raised and educated in Monmouth and Moline, he married Ronadene Youngquist on February 23, 1985, in Cameron, Illinois. The couple shared 41 years of marriage filled with love and cherished memories. Ronadene survives him.

Bill began his career working in the oil fields of Oklahoma before returning to Illinois, where he owned and operated G.W. Bogener Trucking, hauling livestock and grain throughout the region. In addition to his trucking business, he was a dedicated farmer for many years and owned G.W. Bogener Fencing. He held a deep appreciation for the outdoors and a special fondness for animals. An avid Oklahoma University football fan, he also proudly supported the Warren Warriors. Above all, Bill treasured attending his children’s sporting events and rarely missed the chance to cheer them on. He served as a softball coach in Cameron, where he quietly encouraged and supported young athletes. Gentle and unassuming, he was always present for family gatherings, offering his steady, caring presence without seeking attention.

Bill is survived by his wife, Ronadene Bogener of Rio, Illinois; his children, Travis (Michelle) Bogener of St. Louis Park, Minnesota, and Janet (Tom) Nowicki of Yorkville, Illinois; his grandchildren, Tommy, Joey, Vinny, and Charley; his siblings, Jim (Pamela) Bogener of Folsom, California, and Janet (Neil) Bergman of Fresno, California; his sister-in-law, Annie Christian of Monmouth, Illinois; and several special nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his stepfather, his in-laws Ron and Willadene Youngquist, three brothers, Tom (Sharon) Bogener, Michael Bogener, and Ron Bogener, brothers-in-law Gary Christian and Steve Youngquist, and sister-in-law Chris Youngquist.
