George Temchulla

George Temchulla, 92, of Rossiter, passed away on March 10 at the Punxsutawney Area Hospital. Born on April 6, 1933, he was the son of the late Frank and Stella (Yanaski) Temchulla. On September 4, 1954, he married his sweetheart, Sarah Montgomery, and together they shared 70 devoted years of marriage until her passing on February 28, 2025.

A Korean War veteran, George built a long and varied career. He worked for the Ford Motor Company and the Koppers Company in Buffalo, New York, before returning to Pennsylvania, where he spent more than 31 years in the maintenance shop at Interstate Amesite. After retirement, he continued serving his community by working for Banks Township, plowing snow, patching roads, and tackling whatever tasks were needed. He found great joy in hunting, taking walks with his dogs, and spending cherished time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his sons, Terry (Jackie) Temchulla of Punxsutawney and Barry Temchulla of Rossiter; his daughter, Darlene Temchulla of Rossiter; grandchildren Joshua Temchulla of Punxsutawney, Garrett Temchulla of McCandless Township, and Tessa (Brian) Davis of Punxsutawney; and great-grandchildren Landon and Paxton Temchulla. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Sarah, and his granddaughter-in-law Maria Temchulla.
