England, 96, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2026, at his son's home in South River. Born in Plainfield, he lived in New Jersey his entire life.George was a gifted high school and college athlete and an avid outdoorsman. He attended Plainfield High School and Muhlenberg College and was a starting quarterback at both schools. He was also a gymnast, swimmer, and javelin thrower, holding the High School record in the Javelin for over 18 years. He continued his athletic endeavors throughout his life and was an excellent golfer, skier and tennis player. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting.George was a proud Marine and served as an Artillery 1st Lieutenant Able Battery Exec in Europe and Northern Africa.George's business career was in the commercial paper industry with the majority of his career spent as a Sales Manager and Salesman for Alling and Corey a paper distributor and wholesaler.Above all else, George was a devoted family man raising two children, Bill and Lee with his first wife, Betty Phillips. On August 8, 1981, he married the love of his life, the late Gail Muller England. He enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his large and loving family.George will be remembered as a steady and supportive presence in the lives of those around him - someone who was always there to listen or offer his thoughtful opinion.He was predeceased by his wife, Gail England in 2020 and his brother Alan England.George is survived by his children, William England and his wife, Barbara; and Lee Rozycki and her husband, Jesse; Kim (Romano) Palazzone and her husband, Gary; Lori (Romano) DeCastro and Marc Romano and his wife Samantha. He was the proud grandfather of eleven grandchildren: Elena Rozycki, Katie Cordwell and her husband, Rafael; Glen England and his wife, Jamie;. Kasi Palazzone Ford and her husband, Ben; Michael Palazzone and his wife, Oona; Ally Palazzone Wood and her husband Nick; Samantha Fox and her husband, John; Louis DeCastro and his wife, Katlyn; Olivia Romano; Gabrielle Romano; and Nick Romano. He was also the loving great-grandfather of twelve: George also leaves behind his sister-in-law Marilyn, nieces and nephews and his lifelong friends, Dick Brown, and Bob Truet.His and Gail's ashes will be buried at Hillside Cemetery, where a private service will take place at a later date.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Wounded Warrior Project.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
