August 20, 1946— March 11, 2026
Cairo, NY
George Muldoon, 79, of Cairo, New York, a decorated Vietnam veteran and devoted family man, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026.
A Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force, George served his country with honor as an Ordnance Technician during the Vietnam War. After his military service, he brought the same discipline and dedication to a 35-year career as a lineman for Verizon. He was known for his willingness to tackle hard work and high places, earning the lasting respect of his colleagues and community.
George’s greatest joys came from motion and the outdoors. A lifelong Harley-Davidson enthusiast and prominent member of his local riding club, he often served as road captain, leading group rides through the countryside. His passion for speed extended to NASCAR, where he made an annual pilgrimage to the Daytona 500. He also embraced snowmobiling in winter, motocross events, and deep-sea fishing in the warm waters of Florida, approaching every season with an adventurous spirit.
Above all, George was a steadfast pillar for his family. He shared 59 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Charlene Muldoon. He was the proud father of Shannon Andersen of North River, New York, and Sean Muldoon of Stratford, Connecticut, and the cherished grandfather of Caitlin and Erik. He was predeceased by his brother, John.
