George Herold was born in Carbondale, on June 9, 1959, the son of the late George and Faye Herold. He was raised in the small town of White Mills. He later served in the United States Navy as an E5 Sargent, 2nd Class Petty Officer from 1977 to 1981.He worked for 35 years at Camp Mosheva alongside many wonderful coworkers, with whom many were like family.George was preceded in death by his wife, Janet (McMillan) Herold.He is survived by his children, George Herold and wife Karen, Michael Herold and Heather Marie Herold. Also surviving is his sister, Karen Perrera and husband Huck, his nephew Frank, granddaughter Maya and many cousins, friends, wonderful co-workers and neighbors. George's family would like to thank his girlfriend, Judy Collins, his work friend, Russ Coole, his cousin, Judy Farrell and husband Jim, his hospice nurse, Kayla and great friend, John Beddoes.To his co-workers…he wished to remind you all to "think of me" on your birthdays.George had a great love of hunting, fishing, and reminiscing of his old softball years. He was a wonderful man who enjoyed doing everything to help out anyone in need.A celebration of life will be held at the White Mills Community Fire Hall on Saturday, March 28th, 12 to 4. Food and refreshments will be served.
