Lahage, Jr., 73, of Mount Laurel, NJ, and formerly of Phoenixville, PA, passed away peacefully at home on March 15, 2026, after a courageous battle with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).Born on December 5, 1952, in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late George J. Lahage, Sr. and Caroline Lahage.George was the beloved husband of Jane Coyle Lahage for 44 years and the devoted father of Andrew (Kimberly). He was the loving brother of the late Philomena Lahage. George will be deeply missed by his many friends and extended family members.George grew up in the Manayunk section of Philadelphia and attended Roman Catholic High School, & Philadelphia College of Textiles & Science. He went on to have a long and respected career as an accountant with David G. Faw in Wayne, PA, where he was known not only for his professionalism but also for the genuine care he showed his clients.A kind and gentle soul, George was a loyal friend, devoted father, and mentor to many young men. His son Andrew was his best friend, and the two shared a deep love of baseball. They traveled together each year to see games and enjoyed many trips to Cooperstown.George was a passionate supporter of the Philadelphia Phillies and proudly held season tickets for many years.George loved music and enjoyed attending concerts, especially those of Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen, Pearl Jam, and The Rolling Stones.He generously gave his time coaching youth baseball and football and served as a positive role model for many young athletes.George's family would like to extend their gratitude to all those who helped him on his difficult journey.Relatives and friends are invited to a gathering on Monday evening, March 23, 2026, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Givnish of Marlton.A second visitation will be held Tuesday morning from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM.In lieu of flowers, donations in George's memory may be made to ALS United Mid-Atlantic: https://alsmidatlantic.org/ or Jefferson Weinberg ALS Center, 900 Walnut Street, Suite 407, Philadelphia, PA 19107, https://giving.jefferson.edu/giving-guide/give/weinberg-als-center.htmlTo plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
