DuPont, age 98, a Manitowoc resident, passed away Friday, March 6, 2026 at Shady Lane Nursing Home, Manitowoc surrounded by family.He was born on September 30, 1927 in Manistique, MI., son of the late Lena and John DuPont. He graduated from Lincoln High School and then served in the United States Air Force from 1945 to1946, receiving an honorable discharge. On August 21, 1948 he married the former Lois Hebert. She preceded him in death in 2019. George worked for the United States Postal Service, retiring in 1988. George was an avid Green Bay Packers fan attending many games for over 30 years. He enjoyed going to the Casinos and Las Vegas trips. George also enjoyed traveling with Lois and the children, spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren and also enjoyed summer evenings outside sitting on the porch.Survivors include his children: James and Susan DuPont, Karen and Mark DuPont-Flasher, John and Lynn DuPont, Dale and Jodi DuPont; a son-in-law: James Lousier; grandchildren: Leann and John Pomeroy, Scott and Alison Lousier, Chad and Claire DuPont, Keri and Kevin Wilke, Nick Flasher, Matt and Maddy Flasher, Abbie Flasher, Adam Perry, Evan Keehan, Travis and Emily DuPont, Jake DuPont; and his great grandchildren: Johnny Pomeroy, Zoe Pomeroy, Calvin Lousier, Gwen Lousier, Bri Lousier, Cameron DuPont, Cannon DuPont, Mason Braunel, Cayden Wilke, Jordy Wilke, Chase DuPont, Liam Perry and Sativa Perry. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his wife: Lois DuPont; daughter: Sharon Lousier; a grandchild: Eric Lousier and a sister: Jane Elliot.Private family funeral services were held and entombment occurred at Calvary Mausoleum, Manitowoc. Deacon Al Boeldt officiated.
