George Henderson

George Henderson, 80, of Morehead City, passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at ECU Hospice House in Greenville.

George was a dedicated member of St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church in Morehead City, where he served as a trustee and usher. He was also actively involved in his community through various organizations, including the Habitat for Humanity board, the Kiwanis Club of Roslyn, NY and the Rotary Club in Morehead City. His commitment to service extended beyond his community as he proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Army.

Professionally, George retired from Social Services in New York after a career marked by dedication and hard work.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, March 13, 2026 at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church in Morehead City. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Morehead City. A visitation will be held from 12:00 to 1:00pm on Friday at the church. The service will be live streamed on the funeral home website at noebrooks.net.

He was survived by his wife, Janice Henderson of Morehead City; son, Johnathan Lee and wife, Anastasia of Arizona City, AZ; granddaughter, Cassandra Johnson and husband, Damon of Statesboro, GA; granddaughter, Tanesha Odom of Statesboro, GA; granddaughter, Katina Oliver and husband, Arthur of Statesboro, GA; granddaughter, Imani Lee of Statesboro, GA; grandson, Johnathan Lee of Statesboro, GA; granddaughter, Faith Lee of Arizona City, AZ; 15 ½ great grandchildren; uncle, John Langley of Richmond, VA; brother-in-law, James Hughes of Freeport, NY; sister-in-law, Keesha Hughes of Freeport, NY.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Winfield Henderson and Helen Warren; son, Erick Von Henderson; two brothers, Donald and Dan Henderson.
