November 15, 1947— March 2, 2026
Mount Pleasant, TX
George Emanuel Eaton Jr., born November 15, 1947 in Mount Pleasant, Texas, to George Emanuel Eaton Sr. and Janie Eaton, passed away on March 9, 2026. The eldest of fourteen children, he graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in the Mount Pleasant Independent School District. From an early age, George possessed a distinctive and expressive personality marked by his incredible sense of humor, sideways grin, and striking greenish-gray eyes.
In his younger years, he worked at Red River Depot before building a career as a respected truck driver and highly skilled mechanic known for his ability to repair nearly anything. He found great joy in hunting squirrels, raccoons, and rabbits with his brother in Mount Pleasant, racing cars at Yellow Belly and Green Valley Race Tracks, and listening to the music of Tina Turner. Above all, George took the greatest pride in his three sons—Vincent, Victor, and Van—born from his marriage to LuVerl Mosley. He cherished time spent with family and neighbors, grilling on his patio, playing cards or dominoes, and bonding with his brothers over NBA and NFL games. A devoted Washington Commanders fan in a family of Dallas Cowboys supporters, he maintained a lively weekly tradition of calling his brothers to talk trash about the games. He also shared a close and meaningful bond with his sisters.
George accepted Christ and was baptized in 2004, becoming a member of The Called Fellowship Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Kevin A. Powell. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Emanuel Eaton Sr. and Janie Eaton Smith, his stepfather Nathaniel Smith, and five brothers: Lewis, Eric, Wayne, Marrick, and Alvin, as well as his brother-in-law Jessie Chase.
He is survived by his sons Vincent, Victor, and Van, who will forever honor their beloved father, and his only grandchild, Tynetra. His stepmother, Ollie Mae Eaton, remained a constant and loving presence in his life. He leaves behind his siblings Earna, James (Jeanette), Billy (Emma), Shenna, Larry, Jerry (Janice), Sherry, and Delores, along with more than 35 nieces and nephews, 40 great-nieces and great-nephews, special cousins Georgia Adair and Linda Sue Bell, and a host of other cousins and friends. His laughter, warmth, and spirit will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
