Bonita Springs, FL
George Ellison Hulsizer, age 86, of Bonita Springs, Florida and West Chester, Ohio, passed away at home on March 12, 2026. Born on July 10, 1939 in Plainfield, New Jersey, he was the son of Sidney and Hazel Hulsizer of Fanwood.
George attended Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, where he met Beverly Schuyler. They married on May 4, 1963, and after his graduation with a degree in Industrial Engineering, he served in the United States Army at Yuma Proving Ground in Arizona. His lifelong love of mathematics found expression in his work there in ordnance and vehicle testing. George and Beverly welcomed their first daughter, Amy, during his military service. Their second daughter, Beth, was born in Dover, Delaware after the family returned to the East Coast.
George and Beverly shared 45 years of marriage until her sudden death in July 2008. He later found happiness with Robin Turner, marrying in February 2011 and enjoying 15 joyful years together. An avid though often frustrated golfer, George achieved two holes-in-one—one while playing alone and one witnessed by others. He was a devoted Philadelphia Eagles fan, celebrating their Super Bowl victories in 2018 and 2025. He possessed a rich bass voice that filled his home and church choirs at Landmark Baptist Temple and Tri-County Baptist Church. His remarkable memory for obscure facts made him a formidable competitor in trivia games, and he cherished lifelong friendships formed during his Army days and throughout his life. A man of deep faith, George read his Bible daily and completed an annual cover-to-cover reading each year beginning in 1976.
He is survived by his wife, Robin Hulsizer (née Turner), daughters Amy Fernandez (Herb) and Beth Kincaid (Jim), brothers Jerry Hulsizer and Jon Hulsizer (Michelle), and his beloved grandchildren: Emma Kincaid, Isaac Emery, Ethan Emery (Hayley), Daniel Fernandez, Nick Fernandez (Avigail), David Fernandez, Erin Kincaid, and Claire Kincaid. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Beverly Hulsizer (née Schuyler), and his parents, Sidney and Hazel Hulsizer.
