George Marsh ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Snyder Funeral Homes, DeVore Chapel on Mar. 17, 2026.George Dean Marsh, age 88, of Sunbury, Ohio passed away Saturday, March 14, 2026, at the Ohio Health Hospice House in Columbus, Ohio.George, who often went by his middle name Dean, was born on April 4, 1937, in Red Oak, Iowa to the late Kelly Robert Marsh and Violet Mae (Templeton) Marsh.Dean graduated from high school in 1955. Following graduation, Dean joined the United States Air Force. Dean served as an aircraft technician for the Air Force for 6 years, a fact that Dean was very proud of. Following Dean's service, he worked as an electrical engineer for Nelson Tool Corp.In his spare time, Dean enjoyed gardening, fishing, travelling all over the country by camper, and spending time at the Eagles and the local VFW.Dean was also known by many for his iconic tuxedo t-shirt, and for making an incredible salsa with his home-grown ingredients. In addition to his tuxedo t-shirt, Dean also loved to wear a Santa suit during the holiday season. He also loved to share stories with his grandchildren.Dean was a hardworking, loving, and clever person who seemed to know a little bit about everything. He will be truly missed.In addition to his parents, Dean is preceded in death by his loving wife Phyllis Marsh; brothers Kelly Robert Marsh, Jack Roland Marsh, George Dean Marsh and Robert Marsh; sisters Lyda Francis Marsh, Anna Mae Marsh and Roberta "Tuff" Lucille Marsh; as well as his grandson Nicholas Barker.George Dean Marsh is survived by his daughter Kelly Barker and Deanna Marsh; brother Orville Lee Marsh; sister Beverly Jane "Peg" Brumfield; 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; as well as a host of beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.The Snyder Funeral Homes - DeVore Chapel is honored to serve the Marsh family in their time of need.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
