George Charles Pryor
July 2, 1947— March 9, 2026
Fairgrove, MI
George Charles Pryor of Fairgrove, age 78, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026. Born on July 2, 1947 at Caro Hospital to George J. and Glenna G. Pryor, he graduated from Caro High School in 1966 and married Susan L. Adams of Fairgrove in 1968. After attending Elim Bible Institute in Lima, New York, George returned to Tuscola County, where he spent the rest of his life. He worked briefly at the Pioneer Sugar factory and Hydromat Manufacturing in Caro before devoting many years as the front desk ordering agent for Riecks Auto Parts of Kingston.
For thirty-five years, George served as a lay leader at the Kingston Wesleyan Church, teaching Sunday School, leading youth ministries, sharing musical worship, and offering steady wisdom on the church board. Those who knew him were drawn to his joyful and humble spirit. His sincere faith and thoughtful love shaped his words and actions, quietly inspiring others. Above all, George cherished time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
In his later years, he remained active in the Watrousville Historical Society and the Fairgrove Methodist Church. He found deep satisfaction in Bible study and genealogical research, devoting countless hours to library records, census documents, and cemetery markers as he traced his family’s ancestry in Michigan and Illinois.
George was preceded in death by his wife Susan, three infant children, his parents, sisters Connie and Barbara, and many extended family members. He is survived by his son, George (Linda) Pryor, his daughter Amy (Curtis) Jones, grandchildren Makenzie Jones, Andrew (Bailey) Jones, Gwendolyn Pryor, and Makayla Jones, his sister Patricia (Martin) Koss, and many beloved cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends.
