He was predeceased by: his parents, Freal Hudson and Henritta Katherine Blaettner Hudson; his half-siblings, Elora Elizabeth Taylor Prebe and Charles Henry Taylor; and his nephew Ray Prebe.

He is survived by: his wife Eva Hudson of Kahoka, MO; his son Joseph Hudson (Martha) of Bloomfield, IA; his grandchildren, Patrick J. Hudson (Sanders Moore) and Alena C. Poe (Caleb); his great grandchildren, Mason D. Poe, Ronan M. Poe, Diana A. Poe, Sylvia K. Hudson Moore and Bryce A. Hudson Moore; and his cousins, Bebe Ann Rimer, Ruthie Brandt (Joe) and Mary Beth St (Vern).

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 12th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Veterans Cemetery (1479 County Rd 1675, Jacksonville, MO 65260).
