September 23, 1935— March 12, 2026
Salt Lake City, UT
George "Dick" Beverley, our beloved Father, Grandfather, Brother, and friend, returned home to his Father in Heaven on March 12, 2026. Dick was born September 23, 1935, to William H. Beverley and Mildred Dorothea Anderson in SLC, Utah. He was the oldest of 9 children. He attended Antioch and West High School. At the age of 19, he worked at Woolworth's department store where he met his sweetheart, Marilyn. They were married on St Patrick's Day, March 17, 1956. We are sure they are so happy to be reunited once again and celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary together. Dick worked various jobs including ship welder, steel mill worker at Western Steel, and 69 years in flooring. He was a boxer, tumbler, and pool shark in his younger years. He enjoyed coaching little league for his sons, fishing with his family, hunting with his sons and grandsons, traveling, golf, watching and attending BYU football games, cooking, river canoeing, scouting, and going to his grandchildren's games or dance/music recitals. Dick was involved in the scouting program for 50+ years and received the Silver Beaver award, which is the highest council–level recognition in scouting. He is a 2-time recipient of the Dry Back award, canoeing the snake river. He was a Bishop for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, along with various callings throughout the years and survived raising 7 children. His work ethic was second to none. Dick was the greatest Grandpa and Papa. He loved his 22 Grandchildren and 20 Great-Grandchildren with all of his heart. Dick is survived by his children Mark Beverley (Traci), Cathy Schoenrock, Scott Beverley (Wendy), John Beverley (Michele), Amy McFarlane (Brian), and Chris Beverley (Shaulynda). Grandchildren: Jenny (Tom), Cody (Shannon), Kade (Brittany), Kyle (Leslie), Jake (Rachel), Brooke (Jason), Kiley (Keaton), Ashlee (Stockton), Cash, Hunter (Kelsey), Haley, Tyler (Molli), Aleigha (David), Brooke, Austin, Aisha, Brilee, Laila, Anya, Jason, and Avery. Great- Grandchildren: Remington, Easton, Kingston, Talon, Amelia, Stetson, Skye, Aramis, Sage, Wyatt, Miles, Millie, Bo, Sadie, Jade, Nixon, Romy, and Tanner. Preceded in death by his wife Marilyn, parents, grandparents, siblings, daughter: Cindy, son in-law: Warren, grandson: Rick, great-grandchildren: Ella and Tate. GRB, we are so blessed to have had the hardest-working, funniest, most generous, loving father, grandfather, and papa any family could wish for. We will truly miss you and love you forever!
