He proudly served his country in the United States Navy and was stationed off the coast of Cuba during the Cuban Missile Crisis, a time that reflected his courage and dedication to service.Following his military service, George built a long and dependable career with General Electric, where he worked for 25 years before retiring. He was known for his strong work ethic and commitment to providing for his family.In his free time, George found joy in the outdoors. He especially loved backpacking and fishing, pursuits that brought him peace and allowed him to appreciate nature.George will be dearly missed by his loving family, including his son, Curtis (Carie Bricking) Wooding; his daughter, Shawn Wooding; his brother, Robert Wooding; his sister, Alta Dougherty; his cherished grandchildren, Hunter Wooding, Haley Wooding, Cameron Hensley, Stephanie Wooding, Chelsi Workman, Skylar Wooding, Cheyanne Creech, Benjamin Creech and Matthew Wooding and 12 great-grandchildren.A graveside service with Military Honors will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North, 205 Eibeck Lane, Williamstown, Kentucky 41097.
