George B. Davis
May 4, 1962— March 11, 2026
New Braunfels, TX
George B. Davis, USMC (Ret.), age 63, of New Braunfels, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026. Born on May 4, 1962, in Roswell, New Mexico, to the late Charlie and Annie Mae (Bowman) Davis, George developed a deep love for sports from an early age, which instilled in him a lifelong appreciation for teamwork, competition, and mentorship.
He graduated from Roswell High School in 1981 and attended the New Mexico Military Institute before proudly serving in the United States Marine Corps for 24 years. During his military career, he completed multiple deployments, including service in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. George exemplified duty, leadership, and an unwavering commitment to his fellow Marines.
After retiring from the Corps, George and his family settled in San Antonio, Texas, later moving to Appleton, Wisconsin. There, he served as a school bus driver for Lamers Bus Lines, where he was deeply loved and respected by the children he transported and the families he served. In his free time, he volunteered as a youth coach with Appleton West Youth in baseball, basketball, and football. A lifelong Green Bay Packers fan and proud shareholder, he attended games at Lambeau Field whenever possible and never missed a televised game.
George is survived by his wife of 34 years, Suzanne (Shorey) Davis; his children, Jordan Penny (Keaton) and Trevor Davis; his grandchildren, Jace Penny and Reece Penny; his brothers, Charles Davis (Sylvia) and Kevin Davis; and his sister, Susann Davis. He is also survived by many beloved in-laws, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Annie Mae Davis, his sister, Nancy Davis, and the fellow Marines who did not make it home, those he never forgot.
He will be remembered for his service, his generosity, and his ability to listen—always making others feel heard and valued. Semper Fi and Go Pack Go.
