Genevieve R. Mooney

Genevieve R. Mooney, known affectionately as Jennie, passed away on March 5, 2026, at the age of 100. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard Mooney, with whom she shared 58 cherished years of marriage until his passing in 2011.

Jennie was a devoted mother to her children: Ann (Gerald) Mies, Maureen Voikos, Kathleen (Michael) Champine, Richard (Vivian) Mooney, and Philip (Jennifer) Mooney. She took great pride in her role as grandmother to 19, great-grandmother to 33, and great-great-grandmother to 3. She is also survived by her sister, Catherine James, along with many loving nieces and nephews. Jennie was predeceased by her siblings Grace Cote, Lena Lovasco, Fran Ruggirello, and John Vitale, as well as her daughter-in-law Sharon Mooney.

Throughout her long life, Jennie remained deeply connected to her family, offering them quiet strength, warmth, and unwavering love. Her enduring presence brought comfort and joy to generations that followed.
