Luttrell, TN

Geneva Ruth (Wood) Walker, age 74, of Luttrell, Tennessee, passed away in the early morning hours of March 9, 2026. Born on September 23, 1951, in Knoxville, Tennessee, to the late Rev. JB and Jessie Ruth Wood, Geneva spent her childhood on the family farm alongside her three brothers and three sisters. She met the love of her life at Bruins Cabinet Shop. After Jess joined the Air Force in 1970, the couple married on August 5, 1971, and moved to California where they began their life together.

Geneva was a devoted stay-at-home mother for much of her life. She later worked for the phone company, served as postmaster relief at the Luttrell Post Office, and finished her career as Logistics Manager at Office Max. She will be remembered for her caring nature, wonderful sense of humor, and the kindness and love she extended to her family, friends, and co-workers as though they were her own children.

She is survived by her husband, Jess (Speedy) Walker; son, Leslie Walker (Annie); daughter, Rachel Walker; granddaughter, Hannah Walker (Nolan); and her siblings, Donna Dukes, Debbie Campbell, Jeff Wood, Roger Wood, Earl (Shorty) Wood (Charlene), and Betsy Thomas (Sam), along with several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

The family wishes to express their deep gratitude for the exceptional care provided by Dr. Kilgore at UT Oncology, who supported her through 12 years of treatment; Amanda Berry, Nurse Practitioner; and the entire team at UT Hospice, especially Victoria, who helped them care for Geneva at home until the very end.
