Gene Strickland

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gene Strickland (Lugoff, South Carolina), who passed away on March 8, 2026, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his wife Patti Lynn Humpries Strickland; and his brother-in-law Walt Winger. He is survived by: his daughters, Kim Brown (Tom) of Elgin, Ashley Smith (Zach), Wash and Kayla Bullock of Elgin; his siblings, Louise Winger of Copperas Cove, Lindsay Strickland (Mary) of Greenville, S. C. and Dorothea Branham (Irvin) of Centerville, S. C.; his grandchildren, Tommy Brown (Angie), Alex Brown, Faith Brown, Savannah Smith and Zachary Smith; and his great grandchildren, Maisie Brown, Skylar Brown and Gabriella Brown.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 12th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Powers Funeral Home (832 Ridgeway Rd, Lugoff, SC 29078). A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 13th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, March 13th 2026 at the Hardshell Cemetery (1643-1527 State Rd S-28-55, Lugoff, SC 29078).
