He was predeceased by: his parents, Margaret Elder Woods Smith of Newcastle, OK. and Elder Smith; his sister Wilma Wilds; and his wife Mary Ellen. He is survived by: his children, Brenda Gladney (Kenneth) of Newcastle, Anita Stair (Roger) of Claremore and Dawayne Smith (Sherry) of Newcastle; his grandchildren, Cody (Ashley Gladney), Bradley (Megan Stair), Heidi (Brady Vogel), Sarah (Andy Fiegener), Laura (Clint Howell) and Matthew (Emma Smith); his great grandchildren, Charley Gladney, Cade Gladney, Crosby Stair, Reed Howell, Henley Howell, Callan Gene Smith, Parks Smith and Miriam Smith; and his siblings-in-law, Devohn Martin (Doris) of Newcastle, Herbert Ray Martin of Newcastle, Judy Martin of Newcastle and Vernetta Martin of Florida.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 12th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Sunset Memorial (3132 Tri City Ave, Newcastle, OK 73065). A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 13th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Newcastle High School (101 N Main St, Newcastle, OK 73065).
