Gaye Grubbs Duggins

April 29, 1947 March 9, 2026

Pfafftown, NC

Gaye Grubbs Duggins 78, of Pfafftown, NC, entered the arms of her Lord and Savior on Monday, March 9th, 2026. Gaye was born on April 29th, 1947, in Forsyth County to Isaac Lee Grubbs and Jermond Brooks Grubbs.

Gaye graduated from West Forsyth High School in 1965 and launched her career in cosmetology. After working in numerous salons, Gaye shifted her focus to assisted living care as an activities director. She finally found her calling at Hayworth-Miller funeral home assisting families with their loved ones’ transition from life through her passion for doing hair and makeup. Her truest calling was ministering God’s healing hands on the families.

Every soul that crossed Gaye’s path was met with a big smile, hearty laugh and maybe a joke or two. Gaye was a rock for so many. Her love and support were always compassionate and strong. She was happiest with either a fishing pole or a crocheting needle in her hand and would do either from dawn to dusk.

Gaye was preceded in death by her parents Lee & Jermond Grubbs, as well as infant son, Stephen Miller Duggins.

Gaye is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Terry Duggins; daughter, Laura Duggins (Mark Dean); son, Jason Duggins (Megan Duggins); granddaughter, Elle Duggins; bonus brother, Danny Wooten; lifetime friend, Diane Varner.

The family would like to express the utmost gratitude to Dr. Samuel Jacks and the entire critical care team in the Cardiac ICU at Forsyth Medical Center. Additionally, a special thank you to Pastor Rick Speas and Jim Lipford of Old Town Baptist Church.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Old Town Baptist Church, 4386 Shattalon Drive, Winston Salem NC 27106, with Pastor Rick Speas officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Old Town Baptist Church.

Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel is assisting the Duggins family.
