Gawne Linda R ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Penzien-Steele Funeral Home - In Bay City on Mar. 16, 2026.Linda Ruth Gawne passed away peacefully at her residence in the early morning hours of Saturday, March 14, 2026, at the age of 74 years. She was born on March 29, 1951 in Vassar, Michigan, the daughter of the late Stanley and Anna (Jacobs) Karpinski.Linda enjoyed a career as a medical assistant where she formed many friendships through her years of working in offices in both Vassar and Frankenmuth. She had a fond love for dogs and could always be found with a four-legged companion. She also enjoyed the simple things in nature, like watching the birds and always keeping the feeders full. Linda was an amazing and selfless mother and grandmother – she was always there for her family providing care and support when needed. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-granddaughter.Surviving family include her sons, Michael (Keri) Gawne and Eric (Lacy) Gawne; grandchildren, Brenden (Melissa) Gawne, Kameron Gawne, Natalya Gawne and Nicholas Meredith; a great-granddaughter, Hailey; siblings, Sonny (Shirley) Karpinski, Delores Vlahon and John (Judy) Karpinski as well as several nieces, nephews and friends. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Anna Karpinski and her brother-in-law, Arthur Vlahon.Cremation has taken place and per Linda's wishes no visitation or services are planned.
