Shreveport, LA

Gary Wayne Sandifer, born October 23, 1948 in Shreveport, Louisiana, passed away on March 9, 2026. He shared 59 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Donna, celebrating their anniversary on February 16, 2026. A hardworking businessman, Gary owned and operated Ace Custom Cabinets for 32 years before proudly passing the business to his son. Even in retirement, he remained active, always finding projects to complete and people to help.

Gary possessed a profound love for music and was a remarkably talented guitarist. He played pieces that seemed physically impossible, continually amazing family and friends with his skill. Above all, his greatest joy was his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who cherished spending time with the children and making them laugh.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ada Bell Sandifer; his father, Izic F. Sandifer; and his brother, Joe Sandifer. Gary leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife, Donna L. Sandifer; his daughters, Teresa (Travis) Houston and Sherry (Keith) Cloud; his son, Gary (Melea) Sandifer, Jr.; his brother, Richard (Sue) Sandifer; and his sister, Diane Brann. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren who brought him immense pride and joy.

Gary lived a life full of hard work, faith, music, and deep love for his family. He will be deeply missed, yet those who loved him find comfort knowing he now rests in the peace of heaven.
