GARY WAYNE MARVIN

Gary Wayne Marvin, 68, of Bethany, Oklahoma, died on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at INTEGRIS Hospice House in Oklahoma City following a series of strokes and a period of declining health.

Born on December 26, 1957, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Rev. Earl and Avonlea “Lee” (Woods) Marvin, Gary grew up attending schools in Missouri and Oklahoma. He graduated from high school in Lubbock, Texas, in 1976. He went on to attend Bethany Nazarene College, now Southern Nazarene University, before transferring to Central State University in Edmond, Oklahoma, where he earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in physics. He later returned to Bethany and worked for Drillworx.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his three brothers, all of Olathe, Kansas: Tim Marvin, Mark (Shirley) Marvin, and Eric (Leigh) Marvin; his nieces Audra (Marvin) Spiven, Rachel (Marvin) Borger, and Sarah Marvin, all of Olathe; his nephews Christopher (Rosalie) Marvin of Franklin, Tennessee, and Cary (Amanda) Marvin, Matthew Marvin, and Daniel Marvin, all of Olathe; and by two great-nieces and two great-nephews. A private family memorial gathering will be held at a later date.
