Gary W. Jeffers, 92, of Austin, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at UPMC Cole in Coudersport. Born on December 27, 1933, he was the son of the late Melburn and Vernice (Knapp) Jeffers. He married Linda L. Friendel on July 14, 1956, and the couple shared 69 years of marriage.

A graduate of Austin High School, Class of 1952, Gary worked for many years in construction as a member of Labor Union #836. He later retired from the Austin Borough, where he served as Water and Street Supervisor, and also served as a Deputy Game Warden for many years. He found deep satisfaction in farming, gardening, hunting, fishing, and simply spending time with his family. An avid outdoorsman and coin collector, Gary lived a life grounded in hard work, nature, and quiet devotion to those he loved.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; their three children, Mark W. (Kathy) Jeffers, Michele L. (Al) Gledhill, and Thomas L. (Julie) Jeffers, all of Austin; his sister, Nila Mericle of Eden, North Carolina; nine grandchildren, Kevin Gledhill, Angela Jacobs, Kristopher Gledhill, Kyle Gledhill, Sarah Stafford, Zachery Jeffers, Daniel Taylor, Rachel Thurman, and Katelyn Ditzler; seven great-grandchildren, Isaac Gledhill, Rylee Gledhill, Kohen Stafford, Deakin Stafford, Zeke Ditzler, and Phoebe Thurman; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five siblings.
