Gary Steven Frakes

Gary Steven Frakes, 73, of Rushville, Missouri, passed away on March 12, 2026, at his home on Sugar Lake with his family by his side.

Born on December 23, 1952, in Atchison, Kansas, Gary was the son of Larry and Sue (Hiner) Frakes. He graduated from Atchison High School and spent his career as a machinist for Rockwell-Bradken, retiring from the Machine Shop in St. Joseph, Missouri. He found great pleasure in hunting, fishing, and spending quiet days with a beer at his lakeside home.

Gary is survived by his three sons, Jason Frakes, Jonathan Frakes, and Casey Frakes, all of Atchison, Kansas; his sister, Jennifer (Harry) Kiehl of Atchison, Kansas; his granddaughter, Lilly Frakes of Pomona, Kansas; and two nieces and a nephew, all of Atchison. He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents, George and Mary Ruth Frakes and Hadley and Dolly Hiner.
