Gary Martin Landers

Gary Martin Landers, 85, of Dodge Center, Minnesota, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026, at Mayo Clinic St. Mary’s campus in Rochester, Minnesota.

Born on May 5, 1940, in Vermillion, South Dakota, to Ira and Ann (Christiansen) Landers, Gary moved with his family to Sherburn in 1952. He graduated from Sherburn High School in 1958 and married Peggy Ann Lyons on November 19, 1961, in Trimont, Minnesota. The couple first farmed for Peggy’s father before settling in Claremont. Gary worked for Vonruden Manufacturing for ten years, followed by Northern Natural Gas Company and Owatonna Machine Company for another decade. After moving to Dodge Center, he served as a custodian at McNeilus Steel for more than twenty-three years.

Gary is survived by his children, Kimberly (Thomas) Fox of Kasson, Minnesota, James (Mary Jo) Landers of Alva, Florida, Gene (Barb) Landers of Grand Meadow, Minnesota, and Lynn (Jeff) Landers of Claremont, Minnesota; seventeen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and his brother, Douglas (Sandy) Landers.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Peggy Landers; granddaughter Tanya Fox; grandson Danny Quinn; and sister and brother-in-law, Diane (Duane) Faber.
