Gary Lee Kunkel

Gary Lee Kunkel, 70, of Greensburg, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2026. Born on December 8, 1955, in Batesville, he was the son of Clifford and Ruth (née Harmeyer) Kunkel.

A 1974 graduate of North Decatur High School, Gary built a successful career as a skilled drywall installer and dedicated construction worker. He was an avid outdoorsman who found joy in gardening, listening to music, and spending time in nature. Known for his generous spirit and kind heart, he was always willing to help others, often giving the shirt off his back to anyone in need, and he deeply cherished the time spent with friends and loved ones.

Gary is survived by his son, Skylar Kunkel; brothers David and Mark (Denise Gaboury) Kunkel; sisters Carol (Charles) Kramer, Lynne (Phil) Miller, and Angie (Ron) Wood; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Rick Kunkel.
