Gary D. Griesbach

Gary D. Griesbach of Carterville, Illinois, passed away on March 10, 2026. He was deeply loved and cherished by his parents, Donald and Jane; his wife, Sharon; his children, Jacob (Tiffany), Serah (Jonathan Stevens), Joshua (Heather), Shalisha (Joshua Wood), Gideon (Karina), Jeremiah (Hannah), and Gloryel (Jacob Marshall); his adoptive son, Jesus; and his children, Jesus and Lord. He is also survived by his siblings, Julie (Tony Vanden Heuvel), Kim (Ron Hakenjos), Lynn (Steve Schmidt), James Griesbach (Regina), and Lori Lou (Kyle Loewenhagen).

Gary’s family was the center of his life. He leaves behind a large and loving circle of grandchildren: Elijah (Sydney), Jael, Phinehas Gary, Lydia, Azariah, Caleb Stevens, Jedidiah Gary, Hosea, Johannah Wood, Leviticus Wood, Benjamin, Nina, Hezekiah, Michael, Noah, Gabriel Marshall, Miriam Marshall, Matthias Marshall, and David. His devotion to his family and his faith left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

A man of quiet strength and deep conviction, Gary lived with purpose, always pointing others toward the gospel of Jesus Christ. He will be remembered with great affection by those who were fortunate enough to share in his life.
