Cincinnati, OH
Garon David Thomas, 51, passed away unexpectedly on March 5, 2026.
A talented chef who dedicated his life to food and hospitality, Garon brought people together through the meals he created and the warm, welcoming community he fostered in every kitchen he worked in. A proud graduate of Cincinnati State, he built a career doing what he loved, earning the respect and affection of colleagues for his skill, generosity, mentorship, and the quick humor and easy laughter he shared with everyone around him.
Outside the kitchen, Garon found joy in punk music and cheering on the Cleveland Guardians, Cleveland Cavaliers, and, somewhat reluctantly, the Cleveland Browns. Above all, he cherished his life with his wife Stevi, his partner of 14 years and wife of four. Their years together were filled with laughter, inside jokes, and a deep companionship that was evident to all who knew them.
He is survived by his wife Stevi; his parents Pam and David Thomas; his sister Renee Samuels and her husband Lance; and his nephews Justin and Dylan. He is also survived by his extended family who loved him dearly: Bill Weber, his father-in-law; sisters-in-law Kristina Perkins and Heather Bowen; their husbands Brian Perkins and Todd Bowen; and his nieces and nephew Logan, McKenna, Isabella, and Willow.
Garon had a way of making people feel welcome wherever he was. Whether through a meal he cooked, a joke he told, or simply the easy way he connected with others, he left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. He will be remembered for his kindness, his humor, and the laughter he brought into the lives of those around him.
