Littleton, CO
Garard “Spud” Renzelman, a native Coloradan, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026 at his home in Littleton after a long battle with lung cancer. He married his high school sweetheart, Gail (Koch) Renzelman, in 1958, and she remained by his side throughout their marriage. Spud is survived by his daughters Kim Corning and her husband Brett, Pam Blegen, grandchildren Brittney Vickrey and her husband Brandon, Brandon Blegen and his wife Emilee, Shelby Corning, Amber Blegen, great-grandchildren Kinsley and Logan Vickrey, and his brother Robert Renzelman.
Spud proudly served his country in the United States Army. In 1967 he founded Midstates Inc., serving as its CEO and owner. Through his keen business sense, he guided the company for nearly six decades. He cherished time with his family and was an avid fisherman who excelled at fly fishing, once catching a world-record steelhead trout in Canada. Spud also enjoyed woodworking and shooting, regularly competing in tournaments with friends at his local gun club. He could often be found on weekends riding his mower through the neighborhood, visiting with friends and neighbors. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
