November 25, 1942— March 15, 2026
Sterling Heights, MI
Gail Salatrik was a devoted and loving wife who shared 59 beautiful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Ronald. She deeply cherished her two daughters, Michelle and Denise, as well as her grandchildren, great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.
Her lifelong passion for caring for others shaped a remarkable career in nursing. She devoted many years to helping children, which inspired her and Ronald to open their home as a foster family for children with special and complex medical needs. She proudly served across the healthcare field from hospitals and extended care nursing centers to providing care in a home for retired Jesuit priests. Gail dedicated her entire career to making a real difference in the lives of others.
A devout Christian who knew Jesus as her Savior, Gail also held a deep love for animals and was a passionate advocate and supporter of many animal rescue organizations. She found joy in home crafting and painting, and many of her happiest days were spent at the family’s cottage on Higgins Lake in Northern Michigan.
Gail leaves behind a legacy of love, strong values, and cherished memories. She is survived by her husband Ronald; daughters Michelle (Anthony) Koss and Denise (Todd) Belanger; grandchildren Jenna (Jeffery) Hess, Lily Koss, Nate Belanger, Ella (John Gardner) Koss, and Adam Belanger; and great-grandson Zion. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and Agnes, and her siblings, Gary (Cheryl) Rehs and Donald (Laurene) Rehs.
