Gail Delores Junkin McCrary

Gail Delores Junkin McCrary, age 90 of Columbus, Mississippi, passed away on March 10, 2026. Born on November 19, 1935, in Kennedy, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late James Ferman Junkin and Kitty Rose Mitchell Junkin.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Johnny Maxwell McCrary, Sr. Gail retired from United Technologies after 40 years of dedicated service. She was a proud member of the first graduating class of Leigh High School, a longtime member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, and an active participant in the Terra Firma Garden Club. She cherished her family, her godchildren, her church family, and her Trinity family.

She is survived by her son, Johnny (Kathy) McCrary Jr. of Petal, Mississippi, her daughter, Ginger (Chip) Smith of Columbus, Mississippi, her godchildren Tim and Teri Younger, and her grandchildren William McCrary, Johnny McCrary III, Freda Kirkland, Bree Younger, and Ty Younger.
