Ward, 82, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at her home on March 10, 2026. She was born on November 4, 1943, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Lillian Stivers and Walter Barlow.Freida worked for many years as a home health aide, dedicating her time to caring for others. She was known for her strong spirit and unmistakable presence. Freida loved to read and had a talent for finding a great bargain. She was an excellent shopper who often turned her knack for good deals into a small profit. Freida was loved by all who knew her, and feared by most.She is survived by her children, Gregory Ward, Mac Ward, Terry Ward, and Cavona Gabbard; and by her grandchildren, Amber, Kelly Mae, McClane, Christopher, Holly, Tera, Chaz, Alisha Hollander, Antonio Santiago, Jason Ward, Ricky Ward, Karen Brasmen, and Jasmine Ward.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, McClane Ward; her daughter, Karen Hollander; her grandson, Gregory Ward, Jr.; and her granddaughter, Heather Ward.Freida will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.In accordance with her wishes, the family has chosen cremation.To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Freida M.
