Frederick William Vandermast Jr.

Frederick William Vandermast Jr. passed peacefully on March 11, 2026, surrounded by his loving family after an eleven-year courageous battle with cancer.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 68 years, Betty Ann Vandermast (née Soper); his daughters, Kim Marie Longo (Robert), Cynthia Carlin Horka (Bruce), and Caroline Ann Schiller (Harry); his grandchildren, Steven and Lindsey Chaffman, Ryan, Michael and Renee Horka, Ridgely McKinless, Kyle, Alyssa, Keegan and Emerson Schiller; and his great-grandchildren, Emery and Landen Chaffman, Aveline, Ellia, Cecelia and Geneva Horka, and Hudson and Shepherd Schiller. He was the loving brother of the late Ernest Vandermast and was preceded in death by his parents. He leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory.

Frederick lived a life marked by quiet strength, deep commitment to his family, and enduring love that remained steadfast through every challenge. His presence brought comfort and stability to those closest to him, and the legacy of his devotion continues in the lives of the many generations he leaves behind.
