Milford, OH
Frederick Michael Spangler, a cherished father, brother, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully from natural causes on March 15, 2026, just two days shy of his 77th birthday. He was born on March 17, 1949, in Dayton, Kentucky, and grew up on the family farm in Newtonsville, where he developed a profound appreciation for the simple joys of life. Known as a humble and down-to-earth man, Fred often found contentment in the great outdoors, indulging his love for hunting and fishing. He had a deep-rooted affection for music, spanning genres from country to classic rock, always playing it loud enough to fill the room and bring smiles to the faces of his beloved grandkids. His vivacity resonated in the atmosphere when he would call on Alexa to play their favorite tunes, beckoning them to dance with joy around him. Fred's love for movies painted the backdrop of many family gatherings, as he shared his passion for cinematic history with enthusiasm, capturing the interests of those around him. A lifelong sports fan, he proudly supported the Cincinnati Bengals and the Cincinnati Reds, never missing an opportunity to cheer for his teams. Fred retired from Clermont Northeastern Schools with 23 years of service as a custodian. Fred is survived by his dedicated children son Jason Spangler and daughter, Jessica (Covey) Foltz, and his sisters, Pat Scheffler, Peggy Waldron, Sue Crider, Mary Moore, Debbie Colonel, and Nancy Johnston. He leaves behind the warmth of his memory in the hearts of his grandchildren, Kynlee Spangler, London Dennison, and Reese Foltz, who will continue to carry his spirit forward. Fred was preceded in death by: the love of his life Donna Jean Spangler whom he married in 1977, being introduced by a mutual friend, parents Robert & Helen Spangler, brother Bobby Spangler, and sister Kathleen ChandlerFamily and friends are invited to reflect on his legacy during the visitation at Evans Funeral Home in Milford on Monday,March 23, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Greenberry Cemetery, Williamsburg. In a world that often rushes by, Fred's gentle spirit and laughter will be profoundly missed. He taught us that happiness can be found in life's little moments and that love and family are what truly matter. As we gather to remember him, we celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and a passion for the things that brought him joy.
