He is survived by: his wife Lou Frances Sylvester; his siblings, Danny B. Sylvester (Carole) and Ellen G. "Ellynn" Wilson; his children, James G. "Greg" Sylvester (Gigi), Samuel C. "Sam" Love (Silvia), Michael A. Love (John "JB"), William R. "Bill" Love (Jody), Kristen A. Davidson (Brent) and Dorothy M. Balawender (Noah); and his grandchildren, Ryan G. Sylvester (Gracie), Beau M. Sylvester (Ileah), Samuel C. "Sammy" Love Jr., Raymond Love (Casandra), Ethan P. Martell (Brittany), Christopher M. Spangler, Nicholas J. Spangler, Chelsea S. "Suzanne" Sylvester, Stephanie M. Stanton, Natasha Davidson-Reales (Kleison), Teresa C. "Chrisi" Weeks and Maxine Brown. He is also survived by many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
The military honors will be held on Monday, March 16th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Oaklawn Park Cemetery & Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to a Veteran's organization, the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians Anishnaabek Community & Family Services (ACFS), or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
