Frederick H. 'Fred' Bergman Jr.

Frederick H. “Fred” Bergman Jr., 70, of Holmes, passed away on March 11, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Fred touched many lives through his kindness, quiet generosity, and deep passions.

Born on July 29, 1955, to the late Frederick H. and Ida Louise (Andrews) Bergman, Fred cherished sports, especially baseball. One of his greatest joys was coaching his son Eric, creating lasting memories from the dugout and on the field. He was also a lifelong animal lover who cared tenderly for feral cats and other creatures, spending many hours ensuring they were fed and looked after.

In later years, Fred found peace in Millsboro, Delaware, where he and his beloved wife, Patricia, spent cherished summers by the Delaware Bay. Above all, he delighted in time spent with his grandsons Benjamin and Theodore, who brought him immense pride and happiness. Though he was unable to meet his granddaughter before his passing, his family finds comfort knowing he is with her now.

Fred is survived by his wife, Patricia (Hannigan) Bergman; his son, Eric (Kaitlin) Bergman; grandsons Benjamin and Theodore Bergman and a granddaughter due in April; sisters-in-law Kathy (Jim) Lange, Jean Marie (Larry) Poff, and Gerri (Jim) Schinski; and several nieces and nephews, including his cherished niece Shannon Ladislaw.
