Fred Kerr

Fred passed away suddenly yet peacefully on March 9, 2026, just weeks before his 97th birthday. He was predeceased by his parents, Matthew and Jean Kerr, all ten of his siblings, and his beloved son, Darren. Fred leaves behind his loving wife of 60 years, Shirley, and was a devoted father to his daughter Heather. He was a cherished Papa to his granddaughter Alexandra and his great-grandson Avyon, and will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews, extended family, friends, and his church family at Downsview Baptist Church.

Fred worked for many years as a radio dispatcher for the Ministry of Transportation before retiring. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, spending time with family, working on crossword puzzles, and especially playing with his great-grandson. Those who knew him often recall hearing him humming or softly singing one of his favourite hymns, a reflection of the deep faith that quietly guided his life.

Fred loved the Lord and lived with a steady, sincere faith that was evident to all who knew him. His family finds comfort in knowing he is now at peace in the presence of his Saviour and reunited with his beloved son Darren. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
