He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Steinbach and Margaret Steinbach (Evans); and his siblings, Minnie Allison, Bill Steinbach, Aldrena VonOrtwick, Margaret Mallie, Bernard Steinbach, Jim Steinbach, Don Steinbach, Kenneth Steinbach and Darlene Major.

He is survived by: his wife Sharon Cummins of Patrick's Catholic Church; his sons, John William Steinbach (Amanda) and Patrick Joseph Steinbach; his grandchildren, John, Henry, Addilyn Margaret Ann, Emmett and Hudson; and his brothers, Joseph Steinbach and Frank Steinbach. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 15th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Tharp Funeral Home (116 Benton Ave E, Albia, IA 52531). A rosary will be held on Sunday, March 15th 2026 at 4:00 PM at the same location. A wake will be held on Sunday, March 15th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, March 16th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church (730 W Benton Ave, Albia, IA 52531).

An open memorial has been established to the family to be determined at a later date.
