Fred "Freddy" Goldstein

Passed March 9, 2026

Acton, MA

Fred "Freddy" Goldstein, 83, of Acton, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026, surrounded by his family. Known to friends and family as a caring and loving husband, father, and grandfather, Fred found joy in traveling, taking long walks outdoors, and sharing Boston sports and UConn women’s basketball with those he loved. He celebrated life’s milestones with genuine enthusiasm and was always ready to lend a hand to friends, neighbors, and anyone in need. A dedicated volunteer, he gave his time generously to Household Goods and to local town elections.

Born to Minnie (Krupp) and Sidney Goldstein, Fred grew up in Jersey City, New Jersey. He earned his undergraduate degree from the New Jersey Institute of Technology, a master’s from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and a PhD in electrical engineering from the University of Connecticut. He enjoyed a long and successful career in electrical engineering and took great pleasure in his work as an adjunct professor at Northeastern University.

Fred met his wife, Doris (“Bunny, Dorrie”), at Rensselaer in 1965. The couple settled in Acton, where they became founding members of Congregation Beth Elohim. Fred remained an active and devoted member of the synagogue, serving as President of both the congregation and the Brotherhood. Together, he and Doris raised three daughters and took pride in keeping their children, grandchildren, and extended family close.

Fred is survived by his devoted wife, Doris; his brother, Bob Goldstein, and sister-in-law, Diane Goldstein; his daughters and their spouses, Carri Goldstein and Rob Czajkowski, Alicia and Alex Raun, and Emily and Theodore Macnow; and his six cherished grandchildren, Carl, Benjamin, Svend, Eddie, Brody, and Brooke.
