Preserve forever →Fred "Lynn" Davis
April 3, 1949— March 4, 2026
Louisville, TN
Fred “Lynn” Davis, 76, of Louisville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at home on March 4, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his family.
Born on April 3, 1949, in Maryville, Tennessee, to Fred and Katheline Davis, Lynn graduated from Everett High School in 1968. He began his working life in the projector rooms of the Capitol Theater and Parkway Drive-In, where he met the love of his life, Connie. They married at St. Mark’s UMC in 1970 and shared 55 devoted years together. Lynn later owned and operated the Circle Drive Union 76 gas station before beginning a career with D.F. Shoffner Mechanical Contractors, where he worked for more than 40 years until his retirement.
An avid racing enthusiast, Lynn enjoyed watching NASCAR, attending races at Bristol Motor Speedway, and racing his ’57 Chevy, the Raunchy Rabbit, at the Maryville Drag Strip, where he claimed several victories. He cherished afternoons spent in the garage with his lifelong best friend, Buck Whitehead, at Buck’s Body Shop. He and Connie loved camping and spending time with their “lake bunch” on Tellico and Cherokee Lakes. He also shared many memorable scuba diving trips with his dear friend Doug Shoffner.
Above all, Lynn’s greatest passion was his family. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he coached little league baseball and was always ready to offer guidance and lessons in the front yard. He will be deeply missed by his wife Connie, children Nicki Duvall (Kelly) and Travis Davis, grandchildren Tyler Morse (Aspen Cooper), Alexis Davis, and Weston Davis, brother Michael Davis, sister Debbie Dunlap, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Katheline Davis, and his brother Howard Davis. His loyal dogs, Sam and Chubby, will miss their special snuggle time with him in the recliner.
