Franklin Carman IV, age 13, of Camden-Wyoming, Delaware, passed away on March 6, 2026. Born on September 22, 2012, in Dover, Delaware, to Frank Carman III and Samantha Berry, Franklin filled his 13 years with laughter, kindness, and boundless energy that touched everyone around him.
A seventh-grade student at Fifer Middle School, he was an enthusiastic member of the Trading Card Club and Dungeons and Dragons Club. Franklin had a remarkable talent for drawing, spending hours sketching characters and bringing his imaginative ideas to life on paper. He also loved building, whether constructing intricate creations with Legos or working with wood in the workshop, where his curiosity and clever mind turned simple materials into something wonderful. Music was another deep passion, bringing him daily joy and serving as a vibrant outlet for his creativity and spirit.
Above all, Franklin was known for his kind and caring heart. He had a special gift for lifting others up, especially his sisters, Emma and Jacey. With his humor, gentle words, or simply his steady presence, he could always bring a smile to their faces. His warmth and empathy drew people to him naturally, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him.
He is lovingly remembered by his mother, Samantha Berry; his father and stepmother, Frank Carman III and Brittany Oakey; and his sisters, Emma and Jacey. He is also deeply loved by his grandparents, Frank and Anita Carman, Mike and Carmen Torres, Bob and LeaAnn Berry, and Dan and Bonny Bergeron, as well as his aunts and uncles, Matt and Lisa Carman, Isabel and Mark Carman, Sarah and Corey Mantei, Shawn Torres, Heather Torres, and DJ and Andrea Bergeron. Franklin will be dearly missed by his cousins, many friends, classmates, and teachers whose lives were brightened by his presence. Though his time with them was far too short, Franklin’s joy, creativity, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
