October 8, 1946— March 12, 2026
Thomasville, GA
Dallas Franklin “Frank” Scoggins, affectionately known as Franky, passed away on March 12, 2026. Born on October 8, 1946, in Athens, Georgia, he was the son of the late Bobby and Agnes Scoggins. A devoted member of First Baptist Church in Thomasville, Frank lived a life marked by faith, diligence, and quiet humor.
He graduated from Thomasville High School in 1964 and from Valdosta State University in 1968 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, where he was a proud member of Pi Kappa Phi fraternity. Frank spent many years with Sunnyland Foods before joining C&W Foods as Vice President of Sales under his longtime friend Roger Champion. Most recently, he served as Thomas County’s Elections Supervisor, a role he fulfilled with dedication until his final days. Meticulous in all he did, Frank was known for his strong work ethic, sharp appearance, and faithful service as an usher at First Baptist Church.
Frank possessed a dry wit and quick humor, often exchanging playful sparring and memorable comebacks with friends at Al Dixon’s, a place he frequented with great regularity. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cheering for the Georgia Bulldogs, and the camaraderie of his regular coffee group. Above all, he treasured his family and leaned deeply on his faith in Christ. He continually encouraged his children and grandchildren to remain grounded in their faith and to count their blessings.
Frank was preceded in death by his wife of 24 years, Mary Warren Long Scoggins; his parents, Bobby and Agnes Scoggins; and his sister, Patsy Scoggins Aspinwall. He is survived by his children Brooke King (Matt), Meredith Blue (Graham), and Neal Scoggins; his stepdaughters Cindi Ackerman (Bob) and Carri Lauder (Cal); his niece Amy Aspinwall and nephew Chris Aspinwall; Alice Scoggins Hurst, mother of his children; and longtime friend Jimmy Clanton. He was a beloved “Pops” to fourteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
