Francisco Cortez Vasquez, 74, of Clute, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026, surrounded by his family. Born on August 8, 1951, in Raymondville, Texas, he served his country for eight years in the United States Army as a Sergeant, with postings in Korea and Germany. He carried the values of discipline, strength, and loyalty with him throughout his life.
Above all, Francisco was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose world revolved around his family. He cherished bringing loved ones together for lively games of lotería, sharing stories and laughter, and fishing with his children and grandchildren. A skilled woodworker, he found joy in creating with his hands and was always the first to offer help to anyone in need. His kindness, generosity, and steady presence left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Juanita Vasquez; his children, Monica Vasquez, Erica Godoy, Valarie Vasquez, and Laura Vasquez; and the three grandchildren he helped raise as his own, Vennessa Hudson, Jaulean Vasquez, and Andrew Vasquez. He also leaves behind 13 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 12 brothers and sisters who will continue to cherish his memory. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lorenzo and Esther Vasquez, and his brothers, Santiago Vasquez, Lorenzo Jr. Vasquez, and Julio Vasquez.
Francisco’s legacy of love, strength, and unwavering dedication to family will live on in everyone whose life he touched. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those who loved him.
