Francis Urban

Francis Urban, known to many as Frank, passed away peacefully at his home in West Pittston on March 6, 2026, at the age of 91. Born in Swoyersville, he was the son of the late Francis J. and Connie Kamus Urban. A graduate of Swoyersville High School Class of 1952, Frank went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps from 1954 to 1957, attaining the rank of Sergeant before his discharge.

He spent many years as a production foreman at Celotex, retiring in 1997, and later worked as an assembler at Wal-Mart until his final retirement in 2012. Frank was an avid hunter who enjoyed classic cars and remained a devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan throughout his life.

Predeceased by his sisters Joan John and Eunice Patyk, Frank is survived by his wife Joan, his sister-in-law Jane Tomko and her husband Ron of Wyoming, niece Debra Sanfilippo and her husband Mike of Wyoming, nephews Ron Tomko and his wife Jane of Blandon, Mike and Joseph Sanfilippo, and Nick Tomko, as well as nieces Anna Tomko and Amy Kehner.

As per his wishes, all services were held privately, and he was laid to rest in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Wyoming.
