Francis Joseph Brahier

March 13, 1934 March 13, 2026

Perrysburg, OH

Francis Joseph Brahier, known to all as Frank, passed away peacefully at his home in Perrysburg, Ohio, on March 13, 2026, at the age of 91. Born on April 13, 1934, to Joseph and Helen Eckel Brahier, he grew up on the family farm alongside his four siblings, where he developed a deep sense of faith, hard work, and perseverance that shaped his entire life. He graduated from Saint Rose School and Perrysburg High School before being drafted into the U.S. Army during the Korean War. While training at Fort Knox, he met Joyce Metzger, and the two married in 1957 after his honorable discharge. Together they raised two sons, Stephen and Daniel, in Perrysburg. After the deaths of Stephen in 1981 and Joyce in 1997, Frank found companionship again when he married Linda Ruetz in 2002.

Frank served with distinction on the Perrysburg Police Department, where his steady presence, fairness, and dedication earned him the lasting respect of the community. He remained deeply involved in local service through the Kip Boulis Foundation Board, where he coordinated the annual 5K run, and as a longtime member of the American Legion. His Catholic faith was the cornerstone of his life. A devoted parishioner at Saint Rose Parish, he was active in the Knights of Columbus and Holy Name Society, served as a funeral acolyte, and contributed to numerous committees including the Pastoral Council, parish credit union, and Perrysburg Christians United.

Frank found joy in tending his yard and vegetable garden, working on carpentry projects in his workshop that ranged from Pinewood Derby cars to grandfather clocks, sharing stories and jokes with family and friends, and following the Detroit Tigers and his grandsons’ sports teams.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Joyce, son Stephen, and siblings Angela, Marvin, and Norman. Frank is survived by his wife Linda; his sister Shirley; son Daniel and his wife Anne; grandsons John and his wife Annie, Mark and his wife Elizabeth, and Luke and his wife Hannah; and great-grandchildren Stephen, Matthew, Mary, Peter, and Paul. He is also survived by Linda’s children Matthew and his wife Leslie Ruetz, Emily and her husband Randy Routhe, Gretl and her husband Scott Wilson, and granddaughter Emma.
