Francis John Moran, Jr.

Francis John Moran, Jr., age 81, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026. Born on July 2, 1944, in Brooklyn, New York, to the late Frank and Margaret Moran, he grew up with a strong sense of duty and a lifelong curiosity about how things worked.

He honorably served his country in the United States Coast Guard. A skilled and dedicated mechanic, Francis had a remarkable talent for repairing and restoring automobiles and could fix nearly anything. An avid athlete, he especially enjoyed playing tennis and staying active throughout his life. He was a devoted traveler who held a special affection for Europe, and he was always ready to lend a hand or offer thoughtful, sincere advice to those around him. Above all, he cherished his family and deeply treasured the time spent with his children and grandchildren.

Francis was preceded in death by his daughter, Meredith Moran. He is survived by his wife, Anne C. Moran; his children, Francis J. Moran III and Melissa Sneed (Gary); his grandchildren, John Gary Sneed and Jackson Sneed; his brother, James Moran; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved him.
