February 13, 1957— March 11, 2026
Quincy, MA
Francis J. “Frank” McLaughlin, of Squantum and formerly of Dorchester, passed away on March 11, 2026, at the age of 69 after facing cancer with strength, courage, and determination.
Born on February 13, 1957, Frank was the beloved son of the late Francis H. McLaughlin and Marion M. (MacDonald) McLaughlin. He spent his early childhood in Dorchester surrounded by a large extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins before moving to Squantum, where he grew up and formed many lifelong friendships.
Frank earned an undergraduate degree in accounting from Bentley University and a master’s in business administration from Suffolk University. He found deep satisfaction in the world of finance, taking pride in bringing order to numbers and helping things run smoothly. Most recently he worked at A.W. Perry, Inc., a role he often described as the best job with the best boss he ever had.
A naturally social man with quick wit and a warm presence, Frank lit up every room he entered. He achieved the rank of sixth-degree black belt, senior master, in karate, and enjoyed gardening, watching sports, vacationing with loved ones, and gathering with friends “at the post,” especially on Friday afternoons. Above all, he cherished time spent with family and friends, celebrating holidays and life’s milestones.
He is survived by many loving cousins in both Canada and the United States, his devoted friends Mark and Joanie Hastings, Arthur “Butch” McIver and his wife Colleen of Squantum, his loving godchildren with whom he remained close, along with extended family members and many dear friends.
