Francis Godbey Staton

Francis Godbey Staton, 82, of Anderson, passed away on March 13, 2026, at Community Hospital in Anderson. Born on July 19, 1943, in Perryville, Kentucky, he was the son of Francis Staton and Frances Robertson.

He spent his career with General Motors, retiring as a utility man at Plant 3. Francis was an avid race fan who also found great pleasure in woodworking.

He is survived by his brothers, William Staton and Sydney (Sandy) Staton; sons Bill (Danny) Staton and Todd (Kamma) Staton; daughter-in-law Mindy Staton; grandchildren Brandon (Kasey) Staton, W. Todd (Kyleigh) Staton, Ashley (Andrew) Sargent, Andrew (Jenna) Baas, Kaitlyn Roberts, Jacob (Samantha) Baas, Tyler Baas, and Shaylee Staton; and several great-grandchildren.

Francis was preceded in death by his great-grandfather, William Cooley; his mother, Frances Robertson; his stepfather, Donald Robertson; his son, Troy Staton; his grandson, Anthony Roberts; his partner, Karen Vanatta; and the mother of his children, Donna J. Staton.
